Spizzy Games — Privacy Policy

Spizzy Games is a collection of board and puzzle games. It has no ads, nothing to buy, and no sign-up. This policy explains the small amount of information the app does handle, why, and how to get rid of it.
The short version
- You never give us your name, email address or phone number, and we never ask for them.
- The app creates an anonymous account for you automatically so your games can be saved and shared with the friends you invite. It is a random identifier and nothing more.
- The name you draw on the chalkboard and the avatar you pick are shown to the other players in your games.
- We do not sell or share your information with anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.
- You can delete everything from inside the app at any time.
Who we are
Spizzy Games is made by an independent developer. For anything about this policy, or to ask about your data, write to privacy@spizzy.games.
What the app collects
An anonymous account. When you first open the app it signs you in anonymously through Firebase Authentication. This creates a random identifier for your device. There is no email address, password, username or phone number attached to it, and it is not linked to any account you hold anywhere else. Everything below is stored against that identifier.
The name you draw. The app asks you to draw your name on a chalkboard before your first game. The drawing is saved as a small image. Draw whatever you are comfortable with other players seeing — a first name, a nickname, anything — because that is exactly what it is used for: it is shown to the people you play against, in the same way a name would be.
Your avatar. Which of the five characters you picked.
Your games. The state of each game you are playing — the position on the board, whose turn it is, and the moves so far. For a game with a friend, this also includes the anonymous identifiers of the players in that game, and the times at which our server accepted each move.
Server logs. When something goes wrong — a move our server could not read, or a game it could not update — it writes a log entry that includes the anonymous identifier and the game involved, so the problem can be diagnosed. These logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider and are not used for anything else.
What the app does not collect
- No name, email address, phone number or postal address.
- No location. The app never asks for location access.
- No contacts, photos, camera, microphone, calendar or files.
- No advertising identifier, and no advertising or marketing profile.
- No browsing or search history.
- No payment information — there is nothing to buy.
The app contains no advertising and no third-party advertising or tracking software.
What stays on your device
Your settings and single-player progress — sound and music on or off, the stars you have earned, the levels you have unlocked — are stored on your device only and never sent anywhere. Deleting the app removes them.
Why we hold it
Only to run the game: to keep your games where you left them, to move a game between you and the people you invite, to show the players in a game who they are playing, and to fix faults. We do not profile you, we do not advertise to you, and we do not analyse your behaviour.
Who else sees it
Other players. When you play someone, they see the name you drew and your avatar, and both of you see the shared board. Games are invite-only: a game contains only the people you sent an invite link to. There is no matchmaking with strangers, no public list of players, and no chat or messaging of any kind.
Google. The app's backend runs on Google's Firebase platform — Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions — which stores and processes this information on our behalf. Google acts as our service provider and is described at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Nobody else. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers, and we do not transfer it to any other company. We would disclose it only if the law required it.
Sending an invite
When you invite someone to a game, the app hands a link to your device's own share sheet and you choose where it goes — a message, an email, wherever you like. We do not see who you send it to and we never read your contacts.
Deleting your data
In the app, tap Clear Data at the bottom of the games menu and confirm. That deletes your anonymous account and wipes the settings and progress saved on your device. The app returns to the signing screen straight away, and you start over as a brand-new player.
Games shared with another player remain visible to that player while they still have them, in the same way a letter you sent stays with the person who received it. You can remove your own copy of any game with the delete button on its card, which also gives up your seat.
You can also write to privacy@spizzy.games and we will delete what we hold. Because the account is anonymous, we may need you to send the request from the device in question, or to give us the identifier shown in the app — we have no other way to tell which record is yours.
How long we keep it
Your account, drawn name, avatar and games are kept until you delete them. Server logs are kept for a limited period and then discarded automatically.
Children
Spizzy Games is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, write to privacy@spizzy.games and we will delete it.
Security
Everything the app sends travels over an encrypted connection, and the stored data is protected by access rules that prevent one player from changing another player's games. No system is perfect, and we cannot promise absolute security.
Where your data is held
Our Firebase project stores data on Google's servers. If you use the app from outside that region, your information is transferred there and handled under this policy.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, or to object to how we use it. Write to privacy@spizzy.games. There is no charge, and we will reply within a month. As above, an anonymous account means we may need help identifying your record.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
